THE SOUND OF YOGA
AUGUST 21-24, 2020
This retreat is an inspired collaboration and journey in sound and natural movement. Diane Smith, Esther Pallejà Lozano, Diane Taylor and Chelka offer a rich and exploratory journey into an array of practices and experiences rooted in Yoga and reaching into the infinite joys of Sound. Through Yoga infused Somatics with improvised music, Crystal Bowl and Tuning Fork sessions, embodying Emotions and delving into Breathwork and Pranayam, we will play. Simple and powerful ritual weaves through the retreat to enrich our experiences from the personal to the collective, within the Soma and Soul.
Diane Smith is a seasoned Yoga practitioner and teacher of life and the founder of SUN DOOR YOGA. She brings an equal measure of Somatics, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra and meditation to her learners and delights in the human journey of awakening to one's true self and purpose. She generously shares her interest in deep listening, to the Soma, the body within and the world around us.
Diane Taylor is a musician, singer, an improviser and composer, shamanic meditator, and explorer of our natural and inner worlds. She creates improvisational piano and keyboard music which both follows and guides the energy of a SOMASANA session with Diane Smith. She loves the opportunity to retreat with like minded journeyers.
Chelka has combined her training in Traditional Chinese Medicine with her love of music to become a practitioner of vibrational medicine. The endless undulating field of sound is her favourite place to play and explore whether it's leading groups of people to sing in four-part harmonies, letting her voice loft above her crystal singing bowls or applying specific tonal intervals to specific acupuncture points.
In this retreat, through sound bathing sessions and focused attunements of your biofield anatomy, Chelka invites you to become more aware of yourself as a vibrant electrical being. Among her offerings she will provide guidance in a session that revitalizes the chakra system .
Esther Pallejà is a singer and somatic bodyworker. When not performing, she creates safe environments where people learn to explore their inner world, reconnect with their needs, unlock trapped emotions in the body, and regain their balance in order to express their authentic selves. With Mantranima, she found her personal way to put together her spiritual practice, passion for singing, and vocation for helping others express themselves. She is a Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework and a Pantarei Approach Practitioner.
